Frostbite Series - Race 2025-03-01
Who can you trust? Not the wind nor the weather person who thinks they can tell the future. Winds were predicted to come lightly from the south east. Instead they came from the opposite direction and rather than light they were actually quite pleasant pulling us along at over 4 knots for part of the way.
The course was from the south harbour to Grief Point and back. The winds seemed so light at first that we agreed to take our time at Grief point if anyone actually made it there however by the time we arrived at the start line bands of westerly breezes were developing and the race was to be much quicker than anticipated.
With a recently cleaned bottom Una got off to a quick start (relatively speaking) and held it till the end. Bring Ice and Red Dwarf managed to get in each others wind which may have allowed Una to increase her lead. Solitude showed us her new spinnaker which is dark blue and quite lovely while duking it out with Navis.
Everyone finished and thank-you for the ovation as Una was first across and won the race in corrected time.
