Fall Series - Race 2025-10-25

The threatening gale force winds from the south-east blew themselves out before they reached us. Our challenge was sailing in the 3 - 10 knot unstable whorls and gusts.. Our course was from Willingdon to Grief Point followed by a run to the Mill and finally a beat back to the finish at Willingdon.

Bring Ice had the best start followed by Balderdash, Una and Navis. Una quickly moved past Balderdash on windward. Bring Ice maintained a good lead and even increased it until Una tacked to starboard on a header. Bring Ice’s hard won lead evaporated as she stayed on port hoping for a stronger breeze further offshore. On the downwind run to the Mill mark both Bring Ice and Balderdash flew spinnakers. Balderdash passed Una while Bring Ice closed in however on the final run to Willingdon, the wind dropped and Bring Ice, being behind suffered a slow finish. Congratulations to Balderdash for line honours and to Una for the win.
