Fall Series - Race 2025-09-27

Six boats took part today in a 10 nautical mile race from Willingdon upwind to Grief Point, out to our mid channel mark, down to the mill mark and finally to the finish at Willingdon Beach Half way to the mid channel mark the wind changed direction from south east to north west. which would not be a big deal if you weren’t flying a spinnaker.

The winds were in the 10 - 15 knot range for the start before dropping to 5 - 10 knots at the finish. The rain was constant.

The first leg was a sprint between Balderdash and Seance with Bring Ice in close pursuit while Una, Revelar and Navis gave chase. The second leg out to the mid channel mark saw the first three increase their leads but keep the same general positioning. The third leg was interesting as the boats more to the rear closed the distance between themselves and the ones in front. The final leg was a sprint to the finish between Seance and Balderdash with Balderdash taking line honours by 12 seconds. Bring Ice however won the race in corrected time.
